This is the
fourth annual exhibition on the theme of "Landscape". What makes
this show different from any landscape exhibitions is the artists'
additional view point on landscapes, at which viewers savor the
landscape through works of art that are supposed to be sharper
views of the daily landscape.
After completing MFA at TAMA Art University, Satoshi UCHIUMI has
been continuously presenting his works. UCHIUMI truly appreciates
the colors that materials contain and states, "The beauty of painting
is the beauty of the materials." Various scales of the works harmonize
with spaces and that presents site-specific works.
Hideki Kuwajima is an artist based in OSAKA, who held a solo exhibition
with us last month. This time, the series of photographs will
not be shown as in the past exhibitions, but the sculptural works
will be on view. They are composed of innumerable colorful plastic
toys that could be considered sculptural mandalas. Although the
artist selects cheap toys as the material, the completed sculptures
give an intense impression of stoicism.
Shigeyuki Mizuno is a very popular and charismatic modeler based
in Toyota who is an authority on expressing "Broken", and whose
desolated stories in the dioramas give a glimpse of new horizons
in expressing landscapes.
Graduated from the KANAZAWA College of Art, Motoi YAMAMOTO has
been participating not only in the domestic shows but also the
shows all over the world. This is the first exhibiiton with us
in these 5 years. YAMAMOTO presents his works made of salt, with
the theme of "Death of Human". They seem to purify the bond between
life and death in our minds, constructing the sauce of vitality.
All the paintings, sculptures, and models present a new vision
of ''Landscape''.
The opening party will be held on Friday 6th June from 19:00 onwards
and the participating artists will be present at the opening party.
