About Nasu Warehouse...
Nasu Warehouse is a gallery cafe which the late Mr.Toshio Ogasawara
opened in 2002.
Ogasawara was a major collector of MONO-HA artworks, especially
those of Noriyuki Haraguchi and Katsuro Yoshida. Besides collecting
art, he also planned exhibitions, while establishing strong networks
with artists. In his later years, he became increasingly interested
in younger artists such as Taro Shinoda and Hideki Nakazawa, both
of whom were on the list of his collection.
Regrettably, he passed away in July 2005, at the age of 63.
Afterwards, the Nasu Warehouse was left in the care of Tsutomu
Ikeuchi, director of Roentgenwerke AG. Ikeuchi has been displaying
Mr. Ogasawara's collections in addition to his own.
This summer, we will be holding Satoshi Uchiumi's solo show at
the Nasu Warehouse.
Satoshi Uchiumi (b.1977) has adopted the motto "The beauty
of painting is the beauty of the media it is rendered in".
With this in mind, he seeks to create an interactive experience
with the art viewer. His pieces are site-specific, and are meant
to be viewed from a precise vantage point. Uchiumi has been energetically
putting on exhibitions lately, as well as participating in the
Artist in Residence programs. He will also participate in a group
show "Landscape lu lu lu" at Shizuoka Prefectural Museum
of Art in November 2008.
At the show in Nasu, some of his largest works will be exhibited
at the spacious gallery, which viewers can enjoy art and the surrounding
nature as well.
"Oil paintings look more beautiful in sunlight", states
Uchiumi. Please come and see the beauty of Uchiumi's color in
its most vibrant form.
The opening party "Mo-shin-ki" will be held on August
2, from16:00.

During the summer we will close Radi-um, the gallery in Tokyo
for maintenance.
