Shuji YAMAMOTO ( b. 1979 ) is known for the works which feature pine trees. YAMAMOTO worked as a part-time gardener besides being a university student and the main theme of his artwork is rooted in this experience. The unique figures are based on Japanese traditional gardening method which is characterized by gradual transformation of nature. YAMAMOTO creates his nature-based works with artificial materials; seemingly abhorrent yet shows his respect for Mother Nature. YAMAMOTO' s current work will be included in the permanent collection of Towada Art Center which will open on Sat. 5 April. http://www.artstowada.com/ |
