Preface to the exhibition

Kazz SASAGUCHI expresses the things that can not be seen on the surface, or the structures exist behind the visible objects which can not be perceived without being concious of. Thus involves the abstraction comprises some fragments, implying the messages towards our changing perception of time, places and objects, which are attributed to the development of electronic medium.

Highly developed communication systems enable the sense of being anywhere all over the world, that make up the ghosts of "I am" to separate oneself from the state of being "here, now.", yet paradoxically resulting the maldistributed existences.
Hence, we have started to dismiss the bodies or behaviors from our daily lives.

On the other hand, we are losing the awareness for the vast and fast information since we have faced to it, through skipping the process of comprehending that interacts with empirical knowledge and recollections, therefore the information nowadays is intuitive, merely projecting the shadow of its surface.

In this exhibition titled "un - ei / shadow or ghost", SASAGUCHI will show the installation that conjures up the shadow of posing human, to revise the physical recollection through the image appears as a real or ghost. Namely, is weakening the certainty of the object, therefore we could complement that with our own memories or experiences to conclude the whole image in our mind, while recall the perception.
In this sense, "shadow or ghost" is the guide back to human nature.
